The eternal meeting is a remarkable institution. It begins with a question, produces a vocabulary, and ends with the decision to schedule another meeting. Its greatest achievement is making delay look collaborative.
I have attended strategic sessions about plans, transformations, reinventions, and new beginnings designed by people still explaining why the previous beginning had failed. The organization calls this continuity. Time calls it weather. Everything changes: executives, priorities, systems, slogans, and coffee machines. Only the minutes remain, bravely recording what nobody decided. Creation is less elegant and more useful. A page written today may be imperfect, but it exists. A perfect page discussed for ten years remains a rumor. Eternity is not the length of the conversation. It is the life of the consequence after the conversation ends.
Conclusion
Eternity does not begin when time becomes endless. It begins when a decision, a page, or a work refuses to expire.
