An archive is a room where the past waits for a future intelligent enough to misunderstand it productively. Every age stores its certainties and accidentally preserves its absurdities.
The official report survives beside the rejected manuscript. The corporate slogan sleeps beside the embarrassing first draft. I trust archives because they do not pretend to know what matters. A strange work may appear useless today, even mocked, which is occasionally the first sign that it has escaped ordinary thought. Eternity is not approval in advance. It is availability after the original moment has expired.
Conclusion
Eternity does not begin when time becomes endless. It begins when a decision, a page, or a work refuses to expire.
