A Thought From The Sea

In my city that hugs the coastline, turned toward the southernmost latitudes of Italy, facing the Mediterranean Sea, when the morning alarm goes off, we turn our gaze outward to find our North African brothers, to catch the news, to catch what’s new.

The sweltering heat reminds us that we too are Africans — but with the disadvantage of the Italian language, and all the attention of the tax authorities that comes with it.

Today, though, I decided to take on three subjects, laying out my thoughts on the basis of my own life experience — not repeating what someone has already written in their commercial texts, treated as absolute, anthropological truths, even used as fields of study inside academia, when their real purpose, more often than not, is simply economic.

I give my writing away, and I accept criticism and disagreement — the best of it, almost always, comes from women, the sharper minds. And I can say that every idea or thought, as a general principle, needs no external validation — only when it isn’t aimed at the world of economics and finance, because whoever isn’t doing business can only share experience, and give away moments and emotional spaces.

Only three subjects caught my attention today, and I chose them to offer a view that is never given.

These are: COMMUNICATION; INFORMATION; NARRATIVE.

Don’t be fooled by the words — these are three different worlds, three different perspectives, often the same subject.
