THE SECOND PAIR OF EYES

For a long time I believed I was the observer, the professional who analyzes. I was wrong. Looking back, some of the most important things of my life were understood first by the women I met along the way — not because they were more educated, but because they saw, in a different way, more rapidly, less distracted. Men are often fascinated by results. Women, much more often, observe the signals.

Many changes that would transform my path were identified first by a woman than by me — small details, a sentence, a silence, an apparently marginal observation that, months or years later, proved correct. The women who passed through my life taught me something no company could have taught: that the relationship comes before the transaction, always.

I remember a period when I was convinced I had to solve everything by myself — a widespread illness among men, thinking that asking for help is a weakness. It was women who demolished that conviction, not with grand speeches but with example, showing me true strength does not consist in bearing everything alone.

When I think of the women who passed through my story, I think of their ability to see, to support, to anticipate — and above all to remember a simple truth: no one really builds anything alone. This is why the title of this threshold is not a provocation. It is an acknowledgment. Women had understood it first.
