THE INVISIBLE BATON

My grandfather did not know that one day someone would write about him. My father did not know that someone would search for the meaning of certain choices he made. For a long time I did not even know that a story existed. I thought only days existed — normal days, made of work, problems, clients, promises kept and others left hanging.

For many years I thought the bond between three generations of my family and Gillette was a professional coincidence. Then time did what it does best: it connected the dots, and I understood the true protagonist was not the company. It was continuity — discipline, the word given, responsibility, the idea that one’s own name is worth more than one’s own role. Things that do not appear in balance sheets, but are the invisible foundations on which a life is built.

Wherever I worked, I met men and women grappling with the same questions: how to keep a promise, how to protect a family, how to remain standing when it would be easier to give up. What remains, when the noise ends, is what we passed on without realizing it — and the blood that remains is not biological. It is moral continuity, a thread, belonging, memory on the move.
